The Crouse Health Foundation Presents the Third Annual Crouse Health Polo for Preemies

Polo for Preemies

The third annual Crouse Health Polo for Preemies, presented by CNY Fertility Center, will be held Sunday, July 29, at the Skaneateles Polo Fields, 783 Andrews Rd., in Skaneateles.

The gates open at 12:45 p.m. with activities beginning at 1 p.m., including games and pony rides for children, raffles, and live music from local band, The Mere Mortals. The polo match begins at 3 p.m. During half-time, guests are invited to take part in the traditional stomping of the divots.

One of the day’s highlights is the Needle in a Haystack raffle immediately following the polo match. Ten participants are drawn from raffle ticket purchasers who compete to find a knitting needle hidden in piles of hay, with the winner receiving a beautiful jewelry item. Needle in a Haystack is followed by a closing ceremony with trophies presented to the winning team and most valuable player and carrots awarded to the best playing pony.

General admission tickets will be available at the gate for $10 per person. Children under 12 are admitted free with a paid adult. Cash only will be accepted at the event. General admission spectators are encouraged to bring a folding chair or blanket to sit in the grass while watching the match.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the afternoon from Papa Gallo Taco Truck, Limp Lizard BBQ, and Gannon’s Isle Ice Cream. A selection of beer and wine will also be available for purchase.

Proceeds from Crouse Health Polo for Preemies support the work of the Baker Regional NICU at Crouse Health, where the region’s highest risk premature and critically ill infants — our “little fighters” — receive care from a dedicated team of neonatologists, pediatric specialists and nurses. With support from this event and the CrouseCares comprehensive campaign, the Baker Regional NICU will receive its first major upgrade in nearly 20 years, transforming the unit to provide more comfort and convenience for families and the very latest in lifesaving medical equipment for newborns.

For the third consecutive year, CNY Fertility Center is the title sponsor of this much-anticipated summer event. AXA Advisors and Howard Hanna Real Estate Services are this year’s team sponsors. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities remain, which include reserved field-side seating and food and beverages.
