Dedicated Overnight Surgical Coverage – Seven Days a Week

As part of Crouse Hospital’s comprehensive surgical services, we’re pleased to provide dedicated in-house surgical coverage 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., seven days a week.

Board-certified surgical nocturnists Akbar Faisal Ahmed, MD, and Tanveer Zamani, MD, are ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice for patients needing:

• emergency surgery
• surgical consultation
• follow-up after a surgical procedure earlier in the day

At many hospitals, this type of overnight coverage is provided by surgeons who are on call, which means precious time can be lost as they travel in to the hospital. At Crouse, our surgical services team provides immediate support to Drs. Ahmed and Zamani with in-house surgical physician assistants, skilled OR nursing and technical staff and ‘round-the-clock, comprehensive intensivist coverage (an intensivist is a physician who specializes in the care of critically ill patients, usually in an intensive care unit, or ICU).

Crouse is the only area hospital with a dedicated in-house surgical nocturnist program. Which means you can rest assured you’re getting the very best surgical care possible at any time – day or night.
