Emergency Preparedness

Emergency preparedness means being prepared to deal with any kind of emergency at any time. It can be as simple as keeping bandages on hand in case of a skin cut or bruise, to knowing how to do CPR when someone is having a heart attack.

Taking small steps to prepare for situations will help you remain calm and more in control should they occur. The information presented here is intended for general information only. We encourage you to do further research and plan for emergency events before they happen.

As a public health facility in New York State, Crouse Hospital has a number of emergency plans in place and uses the Hospital Incident Command System to target and remedy situations and to function and continue to serve our patients and community to the best of our ability.

If you or someone else is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, such as chest pain or shortness of breath, call 911 immediately!
