Crouse Hospital Provides Free Blood Pressure Screenings At Local Libraries

Sometimes called the “silent killer,” high blood pressure – also known as hypertension – is symptomless, but may lead to serious health problems. According to the American Heart Association, more than 20 percent of people with high blood pressure are oblivious to their condition. Simply being aware of your blood pressure numbers, along with other healthcare issues, can make all the difference. That’s why during the entire month of March, Crouse Hospital is partnering with the Onondaga County Department of Health Cancer Services Partnership to educate community members at local libraries about critical healthcare issues. Together we will offer free blood pressure screenings and education about hypertension, information about free cancer screenings for the uninsured and underinsured, the food stamp program and public health insurance.

In an effort to increase awareness about healthcare concerns, Crouse Hospital staff will be present at local libraries on the following dates. Light refreshments and gift bags containing informative material will be available during the events. For more information about dates and locations, please call 315/435-3280.
