We recently received this compliment from Aris Dysert. Thanks to all of our staff in the Baker Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for living our mission, vision and values for this couple and their new arrivals!
"I am writing to let you know about our experience with the NICU. Our twins were born Feb. 1 via C-section. They were 32-1/2 weeks and, therefore, needed care in the NICU.
Our daughter, Savannah, was in need of breathing support and was on Vapotherm for a couple of days. She and her brother, Jackson, were both jaundiced and under the lamps two separate times. These were the only issues we faced outside of the twins needing to gain weight, take in all of their feedings and maintain their temperatures. They were in Crouse for 27 days.
The NICU nurses not only cared for the twins, but helped care emotionally for me and my husband. It was the toughest 27 days to not have our children with us and it broke our hearts to leave them each evening. Our only solace was knowing the exceptional care they were receiving 24 hours a day.
We would love to be able to name all the nurses who worked with us and our twins and there are those we never met, but we still needed to let you know how grateful we are for the tender and compassionate care our children received. The twins have been home for three weeks and they are thriving. Thank you again!"
