Crouse Hospital College of Nursing Graduates Its 98th Class

CON Pin - news2

The Crouse Hospital College of Nursing recognized graduates during its 98th annual commencement ceremony on Thursday evening in Hendricks Chapel on the Syracuse University campus. Commencement speaker was Bernadette Mazurek Melnyk, PhD, RN, CPNP/PMHNP, FNAP, FAAN, an internationally known nursing leader and educator. Dr. Melnyk serves at Ohio State University as Associate Vice President for Health Promotion; University Chief Wellness Officer; Dean and Professor at the College of Nursing; and Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the College of Medicine. Lynn Rounsville, MS, ACNS-BC, interim director of the college, presided over the ceremony, while greetings were given to the graduates and their families by Crouse Hospital President and CEO Paul Kronenberg, MD, and Chief Nursing Officer Anne Sedore. Grace McLaren served as student speaker.

This graduation ceremony is particularly noteworthy in that it's the 98th commencement ceremony being held in the 100th anniversary year of the founding of the college, established in 1913 as the Crouse-Irving Hospital Training School for Nurses.
