Quality Analyst Johanna Lefever Earns Six Sigma 'Black Belt' Certification

Johanna Lefever 2012Congratulations to Crouse Hospital Quality Analyst Johanna Lefever, who has just earned her Certificate of Achievement in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training from Villanova University. This brings to six the number of Six Sigma ‘black belts’ at Crouse, reflecting our focus on quality, innovation and continuous improvement.

Six Sigma is a business management strategy originally developed by the manufacturing industry in the early 1980s. It’s used in many industries, increasingly in healthcare, to improve quality by identifying and reducing causes of defects or errors, while minimizing variability and waste in processes.

At Crouse, Six Sigma is used to address many common challenges, including patient safety, resource utilization and patient throughput. With this training, Johanna is now qualified to lead projects to help improve the services and quality of care we provide to the community.
