Crouse Hospital, Natur-Tyme Partner to Present Three Steps to Breast Health Wednesday, Oct. 24


Breast Health Center - news sizeAn estimated 14,730 New York women will develop new cases of breast cancer in 2012, according to the American Cancer Society. Learn how you can protect yourself during "Three Steps to Breast Health," a free community wellness forum, Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Natur-Tyme, 3160 Erie Blvd. E., DeWitt.


Join Crouse Breast Health Center Nurse Navigators Margaret Bottino, RN, CCBE, CBPN-IC and Mary Butler, RN, CCBE, CBPN-IC for their discussion about breast health maintenance, mammography and methods for proper breast self-examination.

Bottino and Butler have 66 years combined experience in breast health care, and have both achieved national certifications in breast health imaging, breast cancer and clinical breast examining.


“We provide dedicated, individualized comfort, compassion and emotional support to women having regularly scheduled mammograms and those requiring additional testing,” says Butler. “It’s really the heart of what we do for our patients.”

Breast Cancer Awareness Month has also marked the launch of Crouse Hospital’s “Pink Therapy” breast cancer survivor support program, as well as the reopening of its Breast Health Center after extensive renovations. The center was the first area program to be designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.
