Crouse Sponsors 9th Annual United Way Kickoff Cookoff

United Way Kickoff -- news size

Executive Chef Todd Corcoran and Kathy Hanlon from Crouse Hospital joined Chris Brandolino and Kaylea Nixon on Bridge Street Sept. 7 to talk about the United Way's Kickoff Cook-off Friday, Sept. 9. Take a peek at Chef Todd preparing what we hope will become a winning entry in the event!

Crouse Hospital is the proud sponsor of the United Way of Central New York's 2011 Kickoff Cookoff on Friday, Sept. 9 at the Syracuse Regional Market. The 9th annual event, from noon to 2 p.m., serves as the official start of the United Way's annual community campaign.

Last year, more than 1,000 attendees enjoyed sampling amazing salads, appetizers, chili, wings, pastas and desserts from more than three dozen local companies and non-profits across Onondaga County, as well as hot dogs, soda and other items available for purchase.

A past winner in the desserts and wings categories, Crouse Nutritional Services staff are already slicin' and dicin', preppin' and pourin', to ready their entries in both these categories again this year. Executive Chef Todd Corcoran and his team are preparing a mouthwatering Pineapples Foster, along with two flavors for wings: Asian Teriyaki and Honey Garlic.
