Organ and Tissue Donation
Today, an estimated 10,000 people in New York State are waiting for a life saving organ transplant. More than 28,000 transplants were made across the United States in the past year, and another one million people received cornea and other tissue transplants that helped them recover from trauma, bone damage, spinal injuries, burns, hearing impairment and vision loss.
Yet the reality is thousands more will lose their life waiting for an organ donation that never came.
By becoming an organ and tissue donor you have the power to save a life. One organ donation can save or enhance the life of a number of people.
As a partner with the Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network, Crouse Hospital encourages Central New Yorkers to become new organ donors through the New York State Donate Life Registry. Every day at Crouse we work to improve and save our patients’ lives. By simply making the decision to register in New York State as a donor, you are taking the first step to improving or saving someone’s life.
