McQuaid Higbee

Back to Little Fighters Features

The Higbee FamilyAnn Higbee was a longtime Syracuse resident and executive at Eric Mower and Associates. She wrote to us recently to share her family’s Little Fighters story.

Shown here with his parents Cathy and Travis Higbee, little McQuaid looks ready for many years of following Syracuse University sports!

Thanks for sharing your sentiments, Ann… and Best Wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The Higbee family has had an especially joyful time this past year thanks in great measure to the skilled and tender care when our daughter-in-law, Cathy Higbee, went into premature labor/delivery in early December 2014.

Baby McQuaid arrived in the Crouse NICU at 28 weeks, weighing 2.10 lbs. Today he’s a thriving 16+ lbs. bundle!

Daily, our entire family is mindful of and grateful for the compassionate 24/7 attention he/we received from the NICU doctors, nurses and support staff, starting with Cathy’s admission on Dec. 6, continuing with McQuaid’s birth on Dec. 14 and through his discharge nearly three months later.

Travis, Cathy and son are settled into a new ‘normal’ family life in Avon, Ohio. On behalf of them, Jim and myself, we thank the entire Crouse family for bringing McQuaid from preemie to newborn.

Please share our appreciation with Dr. Steven Gross and his superb NICU caregivers!
