2020 Crouse Classic Golf Tournament

Crouse Health Foundation’s 19th annual Crouse Classic Golf Tournament, to support children’s services at Crouse Hospital, was held on Monday, July 13, at the beautiful and challenging Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Crouse Classic Golf Tournament was pivoted to tee times rather than the traditional morning and afternoon shotgun starts. Golfers played in a Captain and Crew format. Other pandemic accommodations included individually prepared daytime only meals and snacks, with golfers, volunteers and staff wearing face coverings when appropriate and practicing social distancing guidelines.

To date, golf tournaments in support of Crouse Health have raised more than $2.2 million. This year’s tournament raised $120,000 in net proceeds to support the work of the Baker Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Crouse Health’s Kienzle Family Maternity Center. More than 1,000 patients are cared for annually in Crouse Health’s Regional NICU, a New York State-designated regional perinatal center caring for the highest risk premature and critically ill infants in the 14-county region it serves.

Proceeds will be used to purchase two Drager Babyleo IncuWarmers, which provide optimal thermoregulation for fragile neonates in open care, closed care and transition. With the combination of three heat sources, this device protects its little patients so they can grow while making workflow easier for staff, giving them quick and comfortable access to the baby. Three Baby ThermWarmers will also be purchased. This latest generation infant warming system sets new standards in open care, supporting premature and full-term neonates with a unique thermal environment while giving staff ease of access to provide the best possible care.
