Central New York Surgical Physicians, PC, Joins Crouse Medical Practice

Crouse Health has announced that Central New York Surgical Physicians, PC, has joined Crouse Medical Practice (CMP), effective Feb. 1.

Established in 1997, CNY Surgical Physicians – with 12 physicians and four advanced practice providers – is the area’s largest private multispecialty surgical practice, providing care to more than 6,300 patients annually.

The practice continues to offer a comprehensive range of services, including breast, endocrine, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. Moving forward, the practice will be identified as
CMP — General Surgery. Recognizing Crouse’s growing weight loss surgery program, this part of the practice will be identified as CMP – Bariatric Surgery.

General and Bariatric Surgery
The new General Surgery team at CMP includes Akbar Ahmed, MD, FACS; Tammy Congelli, MD; Steven Gelb, MD; Thomas Hartzheim, MD, FACS; Herbert Mendel, MD, FACS; Benjamin Sadowitz, MD; James Sartori, MD; William Schu, MD; Kathleen Tindall, NP; and Tanzeer Zamani, MD. The Bariatric Surgery team includes Kenneth Cooper, DO; Jeffrey DeSimone, MD, FACS; Catherine Huss-Johnson, NP; Taewan Kim, MD; Melinda Shaw, PA; and Tracy Walker, FNP-C.
