Healthy Eating Tip: Have Your Carbs and Eat Them, Too
Whoever said carbs are bad clearly hasn’t tried the Clock Tower Cafe’s whole wheat pasta. Packed with vitamins and minerals, these guilt-free carbohydrates are important to weight management because they keep you feeling fuller, longer. Whole grains also help regulate energy levels throughout the day, keeping you awake and alert. You can bring whole grains into your diet with oatmeal, barley and quinoa. If you haven’t tried the Clock Tower Cafe’s whole wheat pasta, you can find it on the menu every Wednesday.

Physical Activity Tip: Planting the Seeds of Wellness
Gardening is a great way to keep active, stave off stress and even improve your diet. Not only will you burn 200 calories per hour, but you’ll also lower your levels of cortisol – the stress hormone tied to heart disease and high blood pressure. Studies also show those who plant vegetable gardens tend to eat healthier because of the easy access to fresh, inexpensive produce. Start planting vegetables such as tomatoes, spinach, peppers and carrots to cultivate a healthier lifestyle.
