Crouse Hospital offers a variety of career paths for our employees in many different areas of the hospital. From nursing to respiratory therapy to medical imaging — and everything else in between — the possibilities are endless. Career Development Benefits and Support — Union
Tuition Assistance
Tuition reimbursement for union employees is available through the SEIU 1199 Training and Upgrading Fund. You may contact the Training and Upgrading Fund at 315-424-1743.
To be eligible for benefits through the fund, an employee must:
- Be an SEIU union member
- Be a full- or part-time or per diem employee
- Work an average of at least 24 hours per week
- Effective 6/1/23 must have completed at least 90 days of service
Continuing Education
Additional information about continuing education benefits can be obtained by contacting the SEIU Fund. There is also access to free CEU credits through the Crouse Library.
Tuition Assistance for Crouse Hospital College of Nursing
Full or partial reimbursement is available for employees, their spouses, and any dependent children in the Crouse Hospital College of Nursing. Benefits and eligibility are based on the employee’s number of years of service on a full-or part-time basis.
Career Development Benefits and Support — Non-Union
Tuition Assistance
Crouse Hospital will reimburse employees for a maximum of 15 credit hours per calendar year for approved courses in accredited educational programs. Full-time employees are eligible to apply for reimbursement up to $500 per credit hour for graduate degree courses and up to $400 per credit hour for undergraduate degree courses. One hundred percent (100%) of the first $1,000 and 50% of the remaining cost will be paid for non-credit certification course (i.e., CASAC, Microsoft Certification) up to a maximum of $1,750.
Part-time employees working a regular schedule of at least 20 hours per week are eligible to apply for reimbursement up to $400 per credit hour for graduate degree courses and up to $300 per credit hour for undergraduate degree courses. One hundred percent (100%) of the first $500 and 50% of the remaining cost will be paid for non-credit certification course (i.e., CASAC, Microsoft Certification) up to a maximum of $1,250.
Part-time employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible to apply for reimbursement up to $150 per credit hour for graduate degree courses and up to $100 per credit hour for undergraduate degree courses. One hundred percent (100%) of the first $250 and 50% of the remaining cost will be paid for non-credit certification course (i.e., CASAC, Microsoft Certification) up to a maximum of $750.
Employees must work one year after the date tuition aid was last granted or the tuition aid must be refunded to the hospital.
Tuition Assistance for Crouse Hospital College of Nursing

STB (Simply the Best) Courses
Crouse Hospital offers a wide variety of leadership and career development courses to help you become ‘Simply the Best.’ Speak with your manager or your Human Resources & Retention Coordinator to determine which courses will benefit you the most. You can obtain a listing of available courses through the Crouse GPS (Growth Performance Strategies), which can be found on the Crouse Hospital Intranet (CNN).
