Dr. Treschuk, or Dr. T. as she's known, earned her master’s in nursing at the University of Connecticut and her Ph.D. in nursing at the University of Rhode Island. She is a clinical specialist in gerontological nursing and a certified nurse educator. She currently teaches full time at Roberts Wesleyan College in Western New York State where she focuses on teaching in the graduate program in nursing education and leadership.
Dr. T. is also active in teaching for online programs, reaching nurses across the country and the world. Her nursing practice experience includes many years of nursing management in the role of director of nursing in long term care. She has cared for the mentally ill both in chronic settings and as a coordinator of psychiatric services to the elderly population and has also practiced in home care and community health.
She espouses a deep commitment to the holistic practice of nursing and a particular interest in spirituality and caring, both in relation to health and in relation to the actual practice of nursing. Dr. T. has an abiding interest in student-centered education and strives to incorporate technology, innovation, and caring in her teaching style, as well as within the content of the diverse courses she facilitates.
