The Syracuse skyline will be lit with holiday cheer once again as the Crouse Hospital Auxiliary celebrates its twenty-first annual Lights of Love campaign. The campaign will begin with a lighting ceremony and reception on Monday, Dec. 1 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. in the Marley Education Center, 765 Irving Ave. This year the landmark clock tower will be lit from Marley’s second floor lounge by honored guest Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney.
Crouse Hospital’s clock tower will be illuminated by 3,000 white lights to symbolize donations received from Crouse supporters in the community. According to Carolyn Christie-McAuliffe and Elizabeth O’Connor, the 2008 campaign co-chairpersons, proceeds from Lights of Love this year will be used to further cancer and stroke patient services at Crouse Hospital. Donations will help build an infusion lounge for the delivery of chemotherapy to outpatients. This treatment area will be furnished with lounge chairs, televisions and other comforts for patients and families. Contributions will also allow Crouse Hospital to purchase more equipment specifically for the care of stroke patients in the Emergency Department.
This year’s Lights of Love Corporate Sponsors, donating $2,500- $5,000 are Alliance Bank, NA and Falso Industries; Corporate Patron, donating $2,000 - $2,499, is Beacon Federal; and Corporate Friends, donating $500 - $1,999, are: Beaudette Construction; Bottar Leone, PLLC; Dannible and McKee, LLP; Homestead Financial Services, Inc.; Integrative Practitioners; Mark Paciorek, DDS, MS; & Mohawk Global Logistics.
