Crouse Hospital has recently been awarded a $14,000 grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure to provide screenings and physician access to women who live in the city of Syracuse who do not have health insurance. Screening examinations for early breast cancer detection are critical in preventing the development and spread of cancer in women.
The funding for this project will allow Crouse Hospital to pay for physician visits, host five Saturday screenings, publicize the program to encourage participation, and underwrite the transportation to and from screenings and office visits at the Crouse Breast Health Center if needed.
