Congratulations to Diane Shaw, a registered nurse certified in ambulatory peri-anesthesia at Madison Irving Surgery Center. Diane was recently chosen by the Crouse Health Foundation as the recipient of the eighth annual Umeshchandra Patil Family Educational Award.
Each year, the Patil Award (funded by the Patil Family) provides up to $3,500 to a nurse or technician who wants to pursue continuing education, professional development and training in the area of surgical services.
Diane will use these monies to attend the 2013 American Society for Peri-Anesthesia Nurses National Conference in Chicago, IL, and we look forward to having her share information on that experience with other members of the Surgical Services Department when she returns.
