Crouse Health Foundation to Honor Bill and Sandra Pomeroy During 2012 Tribute Evening

Crouse Health Foundation’s 36th annual Tribute evening, this year themed “Back in the Day,” will honor Bill and Sandra Pomeroy on Friday, Sept. 14 at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center. The black-tie event will feature an extended reception, gourmet dinner, tribute presentation and entertainment by ABBAMANIA. Guests will also enjoy the music of the CXtec Dinosaurs, a band comprising employees of CXtec, the company Bill Pomeroy founded and developed.

Tribute Evening 2012 proceeds will be used to support the work of Crouse Health Foundation, including purchasing special equipment, underwriting new initiatives and funding educational programs and scholarships

The Pomeroys will be recognized for their significant contributions to the greater Syracuse community. The tribute will underscore Bill Pomeroy’s entrepreneurial success as founder and CEO of CXtec and TERACAI. The Pomeroys are active leaders with a variety of community organizations, including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, National Marrow Donor Program, the Salvation Army and Crouse Hospital. Bill is a member of several Historical Societies and is a former board member of the Onondaga Historical Association and Erie Canal Museum. In addition to serving on the Crouse Health Foundation Board of Trustees, Sandra Pomeroy volunteers with the American Heart Association and HOPE for Bereaved. Their William G. Pomeroy Foundation is a generous supporter of many charitable causes with a particular focus on the couple’s passion for historic preservation and research and the funding of programs relating to blood cancers. 

ABBAMANIA is an all-Canadian cast and the largest production dedicated to the music of ABBA in the world, recreating the concert experience of one of the most successful bands in pop history. ABBAMANIA has performed to critically acclaimed, sold-out concerts with the orchestras of London, Vancouver, Montreal and Boston, among others.

The 2012 Tribute Evening is being led by Mike and Pam Reilly, general chairs; Phil Frankel, community underwriting chair; Benjamin Himpler, MD, medical staff underwriting chair; Michele Johnson, enhancements committee chair; Doug Logan, Tribute Evening committee chair; and Mel Stith, board of trustees chair.
