Crouse Captures Two First-Place Awards at United Way Kickoff Cookoff!
Crouse Hospital was the proud sponsor of the United Way of Central New York's 2011 Kickoff Cookoff on Friday, Sept. 9 at the Syracuse Regional Market. The 9th annual event served as the official start of the United Way's annual community campaign.
Crouse also captured first place in two categories: Non-Chocolate Dessert and Wings! We're proud of our Nutritional Services team for coming up with the winning recipes, and thank them and other employees who pitched in together to cook and serve at the event. According to Executive Chef Todd Corcoran, the hospital's team grilled about 300 wings for the event with two distictive sauces: savory asian sauce and honey-garlic. For the winning "Pineapple Foster" dessert, they used 20 gallons of ice cream, 10 pounds of butter, 25 pounds of brown sugar and 30 pounds of fresh pineapple.
