Bill and Sandra Pomeroy were honored at this year’s Crouse Health Foundation Tribute Evening held on Friday, Sept. 14 at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at The Oncenter. The Pomeroys were recognized for their significant contributions to the greater Syracuse community.
Tribute Evening 2012 “Back in the Day” featured an extended reception, gourmet dinner, tribute presentation, and entertainment by ABBAMANIA. Guests also enjoyed the musical performance of CXtec’s Dinosaurs. The highlight of the evening for the 930 attendees was the salute to Bill and Sandra.
The tribute underscored Bill Pomeroy’s entrepreneurial success founding and developing CXtec and TERACAI. Bill and Sandra are active leaders with a variety of community organizations including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, National Marrow Donor Program, the Salvation Army, and Crouse Hospital.
Bill is a member of several Historical Societies and is a former board member of the Onondaga Historical Association and Erie Canal Museum. In addition to serving on the Crouse Health Foundation Board of Trustees, Sandra volunteers with the American Heart Association and HOPE for Bereaved. Their William G. Pomeroy Foundation is a generous supporter of many charitable causes with a particular focus on Bill and Sandra’s passion for historic preservation and research and the funding of programs relating to blood cancers.
More than $300,000 in net proceeds were raised in conjunction with the event. Tribute Evening 2012 proceeds will be used to support the work of Crouse Health Foundation including purchasing special equipment, underwriting new initiatives, and funding educational programs and scholarships.
