The mission of the Department of Medical Affairs is to focus on the needs and issues of Crouse Hospital physicians and Allied staff as the customers of the hospital by serving as liaison between the Medical Staff and Hospital Administration in order to maintain a high quality Medical Staff.

Manage appointment and reappointment process Support Medical Staff Bylaws Support Medical Staff leadership structure including Department Chair responsibilities and committee functions. Support the Human Research Review committee including the maintenance of protocols. Maintains and distributes the On-Call Schedule for the hospital Support medical records suspension process

Support performance improvement function Manage corrective action and physician due process rights when needed (fair hearing and appellate review) Ensure that necessary education and support is given to the medical staff in regards to, but not limited to, JCAHO, NCQA, NYS DOH, and other regulatory agencies. Supports and oversees Graduate Medical Education. Support the credentialing process for the PO/IPA Support SUNY Residents rotating at Crouse
